At Plug ‘n’ Play Music Academy, we believe that learning music goes far beyond the classroom — it’s about stepping onto the stage, sharing your passion, and growing through real-world experiences.
🎤 Every event is a stepping stone in a musician’s journey — and at Plug ‘n’ Play, we’re proud to walk that path with our students.

Our signature event, Concerto, is held every other year on a grand stage, giving students the chance to shine in a formal concert setting. More than just a performance, Concerto is a celebration of dedication, artistry, and growth — a milestone in every student’s musical journey.
Our very first Concerto in 2019 was held at Fairview Library Theatre, where 40 students came together to share their music with pride and joy. By 2022, the event had grown to feature 60 students on the prestigious stage of the Flato Markham Theatre, showcasing a remarkable expansion in both talent and vision. Most recently, in 2024, over 80 students performed at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts, filling the theatre with unforgettable music and energy.
From intimate solo performances to powerful ensemble acts, Concerto reflects the progress of each student — the hours of practice, the discipline, and the passion that transform learners into confident performers. Families, friends, and music lovers join together for this biannual tradition, making it not only a concert but also a community celebration of music and culture.
We actively encourage and prepare our students to participate in some of the most respected music festivals and competitions each year — including the Kiwanis Music Festival, International Music Festival & Competition, CCC Toronto International Music Festival, North York Music Festival, and more. These platforms give students the unique opportunity to perform in front of professional adjudicators, receive constructive feedback, and measure their progress against international standards.
Beyond competition, these events serve as a source of inspiration and motivation. Students not only showcase their own talent but also witness the artistry of their peers, broadening their perspective on music. Through these experiences, they learn resilience, discipline, and confidence — qualities that stay with them both on and off the stage.
Every performance, whether it results in a medal, trophy, or certificate of achievement, represents more than an award: it is a recognition of dedication, growth, and courage. Year after year, our students return from these festivals with not only accolades but also unforgettable experiences that strengthen their musical journey.

Recitals are an integral part of our calendar, providing students of all levels with regular opportunities to share their musical journey. Unlike large-scale productions, these intimate performances are designed to create a warm and encouraging atmosphere where students can showcase their progress with confidence.
For beginners, recitals often mark the very first step onto a stage — a moment of pride for both the student and their family. For advanced learners, they serve as valuable checkpoints to refine performance skills, experiment with repertoire, and prepare for larger stages such as festivals, competitions, and Concerto.
More than just performances, our recitals nurture stage presence, self-expression, and resilience. They also foster a strong sense of community, as families and peers come together to celebrate each student’s achievements, no matter how big or small. With each recital, students grow not only as musicians but also as confident individuals ready to embrace future challenges.
